Prerequisites

System requirements for the Windows installer

The Akash Homenode Windows installer sets up a dual-boot environment on your existing Windows machine. Ensure your system meets the following requirements:

Operating System	Windows 10 or Windows 11
Boot Mode	UEFI (not Legacy BIOS)
Partition Table	GPT (not MBR)
CPU	8 cores minimum
RAM	16 GB minimum
Free Disk Space	102 GB minimum (200 GB recommended)
GPU	NVIDIA RTX 3090, RTX 4090, RTX 5090, or RTX Pro 6000 SE/WE
Network	Stable internet connection (99.9% uptime)

Before You Begin

Back up any important data on your Windows machine

Ensure your system is running in UEFI mode (not Legacy BIOS)

Have at least 102 GB of free space on your C: drive (200 GB recommended)

An Akash Homenode account (see next step to sign up)

A stable internet connection for downloading the ISO (~4 GB)

Note: The Windows installer creates a dual-boot setup — your existing Windows installation remains intact. The installer shrinks your C: partition to make room for the Akash Homenode operating system.
